** WELCOME TO ZYBTSTER DESERET WIKI! **

Dedicated to the use of the Deseret Alphabet, originally developed under the instructions of Brigham Young in the 1850's and 1860's to help learners of English have a method of reading English in a phonemic-based script. He hoped this would especially be useful for recent converts to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from various countries who were then immigrating into Utah.

You may also wish to check out my page describing the Deseret Alphabet at deseret_alphabet_key.

Here is my first deseret_alphabet_musings1. I hope you find it amusing!

For a look at the entire 1st Chapter of the New Testament book of John in a normal Latin Script English column with a DA transcription in a 2nd column see 2cols.

If you wish to make a comment (known as a Discussion in this wiki) using your own DA (Deseret Alphabet), carefully read the FIRST and LAST Discussions (comments) I have added below (important). Whatever you paste in Unicode-compliant DA will be displayed on ANY computer or device (Apple, Microsoft, Android, etc.), as I use an embedded font in this wiki.
